Choose an entitlement source, understand plan gates, and manage subscriptions through Moodle Marketplace.

License modes

Automatic API

The LMS checks the configured service for entitlement, report and app catalogue content, updates, and AI configuration.

Local license

An administrator uploads a JSON license payload for offline or restricted-network operation.

License state

Preferences shows the current plan, status, trial or next billing date, license identifier, API mode, endpoint, updates, AI generation availability, installed assets, and active schedules.

Included 30-day trial. Every new installation includes a 30-day trial with no credit card required. When the trial ends, an active Moodle Marketplace subscription is required to continue paid subscription benefits.

Status	Expected experience
Trialing	Show the remaining time in the included 30-day trial.
Active	Show the current plan and next payment date when supplied.
Past due	Show a payment warning and direct the Billing Admin to Moodle Marketplace subscription management.
Cancelled	Show the cancelled state. A new subscription must be purchased through Moodle Marketplace.

Plans & features

Stable plan keys are core, pro, and max, displayed to customers as Core, Edu, and Org. Catalogue definitions declare a required plan. Separate feature flags can enable:

Entitlement is checked when an item or premium function runs—not only when it is installed.

Billing flow

Choose the subscription in Moodle Marketplace
The purchaser selects the appropriate Lenarys Analytics price option in Moodle Marketplace.
Moodle Marketplace handles checkout
Moodle Marketplace and its connected Stripe flow collect the accepted payment method. The plugin does not provide checkout or payment-card forms.
The entitlement is activated
The licensing service receives the minimum Moodle Marketplace order and site information required to activate and maintain access.
The plugin refreshes the license
The updated status and features appear on the next entitlement check.

Offline operation

Local mode uses the same general payload shape as the API response, including plan, expiry, features, reports, apps, and AI configuration. Store the supplied file securely, restrict who can replace it, and replace it before its entitlement date expires.

Self-hosted limitation. Moodle is GPL software running on customer infrastructure. Entitlement controls reduce accidental and casual misuse but cannot prevent a server owner from modifying code.
