Open-source plugin code with clear subscription entitlements for sites using Moodle™
Effective date: August 12, 2026
Lenarys Analytics is an open-source plugin for the Moodle™ software platform with optional paid subscription benefits. This page explains the difference between the software licence, Marketplace price options, and the entitlement methods used for connected and restricted-network sites.
The Lenarys Analytics plugin code for the Moodle software platform is distributed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later. You may use, study, modify, and redistribute the GPL-covered code in accordance with that licence. Nothing in a lenArys subscription or entitlement restricts rights granted by the GNU GPL.
A Moodle Marketplace price option does not purchase ownership of the plugin code. It purchases the commercial benefits described in the option at checkout, which may include:
Unless the Marketplace option states otherwise, one subscription covers one production Moodle site URL. Exact plan features, term, limits, and support are those shown and accepted in Moodle Marketplace when you order.
After installation, a new site receives a 30-day trial entitlement. No credit card is required, and starting the trial does not begin a paid subscription or automatic renewal. The features available during the trial are those shown in the plugin for the active trial entitlement.
When the trial ends, trial-only or subscription-only benefits may be locked or restricted until you activate a paid Moodle Marketplace price option. The installed GPL-covered plugin code and locally stored LMS data are not automatically deleted when the trial ends.
By default, the plugin connects over HTTPS to the lenArys API to validate the licence key and receive the active plan, status, expiry, available catalogue items, and feature flags. Activation may require the Marketplace purchaser's email address, Marketplace order information, licence key, and Moodle site URL.
Connected validation keeps entitlement and catalogue access current without handling payment-card information in the plugin. Moodle Marketplace and Stripe handle checkout and subscription events; lenArys receives the limited fulfilment data described in the Privacy Policy.
For approved Moodle sites that cannot make outbound licence-validation requests, lenArys may provide a signed local licence file. An LMS administrator uploads the file in plugin settings, and the plugin validates its signature, plan, site binding, and validity period inside the LMS environment.
Local files are issued by prior written arrangement. They must be protected as credentials, used only for the authorised organisation and site count, and replaced or renewed when their entitlement period ends.
Licence validation is designed to use only the information needed for fulfilment, security, and plan access, such as the licence key, plan, status, site URL, software versions, and installed lenArys catalogue identifiers. It is not intended to receive LMS learner records, grades, course content, report result rows, scheduled-report attachments, or learning-time records.
When a paid entitlement expires, is fully refunded, is cancelled with immediate effect, or remains unpaid after applicable retry or grace periods, lenArys may deactivate premium services and restrict catalogue items or features not included in the remaining plan. Moodle Marketplace may also remove paid download access.
The installed GPL-covered plugin code and locally stored LMS data are not automatically deleted. Previously installed reports or apps may remain present, although their availability can depend on the active plan and entitlement status.
Keep licence keys and local licence files secure. Do not share them between unrelated organisations, exceed the purchased site count, alter signed entitlement data, or attempt to bypass plan controls. Contact support before moving an entitlement to a replacement production site.
The Terms of Use and Sale govern Marketplace purchases, subscription benefits, cancellations, refunds, support, maintenance, and entitlement access. For activation or transfer help, email [email protected].
